InboxGreen vs Klaviyo

Email marketing platform vs email authentication diagnostics — why your Klaviyo emails may still go to spam.

Short answer: Klaviyo sends your email and SMS campaigns. InboxGreen checks and fixes the DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) that determine whether those campaigns reach the inbox. If your Klaviyo emails are landing in spam, the problem is almost always in your domain's DNS setup — not Klaviyo itself. InboxGreen diagnoses and fixes that.

Setting up SPF and DKIM for Klaviyo

Klaviyo requires you to publish DNS records at your registrar so emails pass SPF and DKIM authentication. If these records are missing or wrong, your Klaviyo campaigns land in spam regardless of content quality.

SPF for Klaviyo

Add or merge this include into your existing SPF TXT record at the root of your domain:

v=spf1 include:send.klaviyo.com ~all

If you already have an SPF record with other senders, merge the includes into one record. Do not create two v=spf1 records.

DKIM for Klaviyo

Klaviyo provides CNAME records in Account → Settings → Brand → Sender information. Publish those CNAME records exactly as shown — do not convert them to TXT.

After publishing, Klaviyo validates automatically. Allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation.

Why Klaviyo emails go to spam

The most common reasons Klaviyo campaigns land in the spam folder:

  • Missing or misconfigured SPF — either no SPF record exists, or Klaviyo's include is not in it.
  • DKIM not verified — you connected your domain in Klaviyo but never published the CNAME records in your DNS panel.
  • No DMARC record — without DMARC, some inboxes treat your messages with extra suspicion. A p=none policy is enough to start.
  • Domain reputation — if your domain was used for spam previously or is new, warming is required.
  • List hygiene — high bounce rates and spam complaints damage sender reputation regardless of DNS setup.
Important: If you switch from Klaviyo to another platform without fixing your DNS records first, the spam problem follows you. Authentication issues are tied to your domain, not the sending platform.
