InboxGreen vs Brevo (Sendinblue)

Email marketing platform vs email authentication diagnostics — why your Brevo emails may still go to spam.

Short answer: Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) is an email marketing and CRM platform — you use it to send campaigns, transactional emails, and SMS. InboxGreen checks and fixes the DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) that determine whether those Brevo emails actually reach the inbox. These tools do different jobs and most Brevo users need both.

Setting up SPF and DKIM for Brevo

Brevo requires you to authenticate your sending domain before emails pass SPF and DKIM checks. Without this, your campaigns are more likely to land in spam — even if the content is clean.

SPF for Brevo

Add or merge Brevo's include into your SPF TXT record at the root of your domain:

v=spf1 include:spf.sendinblue.com ~all

The include name remains spf.sendinblue.com even after the rebrand to Brevo. If you also use other senders, merge all includes into one SPF record.

DKIM for Brevo

Go to Brevo → Senders & IPs → Domains → Add a domain. Brevo shows you a TXT record to publish at a specific selector._domainkey host.

Copy the exact values Brevo provides and publish them in your DNS panel. After publishing, click Authenticate in Brevo to verify.

Why Brevo emails go to spam

The most common reasons Brevo campaigns land in the spam folder:

  • Domain not authenticated in Brevo — you need to add your domain under Senders & IPs → Domains and publish the provided DNS records.
  • SPF missing or wrong — if spf.sendinblue.com is not in your SPF record, receiving servers can't verify Brevo is authorized to send on your behalf.
  • DKIM not verified — you added the domain in Brevo but never published the TXT record in your DNS panel, or published it with a typo.
  • No DMARC policy — even p=none tells inbox providers you are monitoring, which improves trust.
  • Shared IP reputation — on Brevo's free tier, you share sending IPs. A dedicated IP (paid plans) gives you full control over your reputation.
Important: Switching from Brevo to another platform will not fix spam issues caused by missing DNS records. Authentication problems are attached to your domain — they follow you everywhere. Fix SPF, DKIM, and DMARC first, then decide if you still need to switch.
